To Hell With Good Intentions!

Another musical post, this time from the depths of the Welsh valleys /shit welsh accent/.

I've been a huge fan of mclusky since I stumbled upon them by chance as a troubled youth, and now, 7 years on they still fill me with such fiery passion. They're so raw and unadulterated, it's hard not to get drawn in by their energy. In this particular video we see them play on the welsh version of TOTP, Pop Factory. The crowd consists pretty much entirely of pre-pubescent chavs from the valleys who were clearly there for Take That or some shit.

My favourite bit is about half way through when Andrew "Falco" Falkous, the singer, just pulls the best "the fuck am I doing" smile ever. Class /shit welsh accent.

He was all acting like, "woah!"

I've had big big expectations of Everything Everything over the last few months. I chance heard one of their songs on the radio aaages ago and since then I've been gagging for an album. Well, the wait is over! They recently released Man Alive, which although maybe not quite what I expected, I think it has a strong chance for my album of the year (though I do only buy about 3 new albums a year).

Here is a quick snippet from Man Alive, a bit of an faux R&B style romp which hits all the right notes with me!

I found this song in the road: Part 1

Every now and then while wandering about, I see CDs sat on the edge of the road. Now this, to me, is both massively intriguing and saddening. Who threw this out of the car? Was it in anger, annoyance, boredom? I've decided to record the discs I find, each has a story to tell you know!

This is part 1......It's Smurfs Go Pop, found on a country road in South Yorkshire. To be honest, I'd probably throw it out too!

Stop Motion

Just thought I'd share this wee film with you all to get the blog rolling a bit. I made this in my second year at Uni for a short (half day) project. We took all the pictures and edited it in under 3 hours....which I personally think is pretty impressive!
We were told to experiment with stop frame animation to make a short film set in/around/about Nottingham. Enjoy!

My good chums....

Here are my good pals Ocean Bottom Nightmare, a fruity little 3 piece from Nottingham. This is their latest single.
